Victor Babariko, former director of the Belarusian financial institution Belgazprombank and the candidate who
led the polls for the presidential elections of August 9, 2020, has been sentenced today to 14 years in prison in
severe regime by the Supreme Court of Belarus. In a process that began on February 17, he has been found guilty of large-scale bribery and capital evasion. He will also have to pay a fine and assume a disqualification of five years.
