Prague – Over 40 percent of Czechs buy clothes more often in brick-and-mortar stores than on the Internet, while almost 30 percent expand their wardrobe once every quarter. Among the most famous brands are H&M, C&A or New Yorker. This results from a survey by the Nielsen and Resolution Group agencies among Czechs over 15 years of age who are active on the Internet. About a fifth of respondents buy clothes once every six months, and 18 percent of Czechs buy clothes once a month. Six percent of respondents expand their wardrobe several times a month. Two percent of them said that they do not buy clothes at all. A quarter of Czechs buy a new item on the Internet or in a brick-and-mortar store less often than once every six months, according to the survey.
Over 50 percent of men said that they shop for clothes once every six months or less often, every third woman buys a new piece of clothing at least once a month, according to information from the agencies. According to them, the frequency of clothing purchases decreases with age.
Approximately 27 percent of respondents said that they only buy clothes in brick-and-mortar stores. 44 percent of Czechs buy a new item in a physical store more often than on the Internet, while 27 percent of respondents buy more online, according to the survey. According to him, brick-and-mortar stores are preferred by men and older people, while e-shops are preferred by women and people aged 15 to 34.
According to him, 90 percent of respondents know the Swedish H&M chain. More than half of people aged 15 to 34 shop at H&M, as well as more than half of the women surveyed, the agencies said. Second place in the ranking of the most famous brick-and-mortar stores was taken by C&A and the New Yorker. Of the online stores, most people have heard of Zalanda, About You and Zoot, according to the survey. Despite the fact that these e-shops are well-known, the proportion of people who shop in them is lower than in the case of brick-and-mortar stores. About 15 percent of those surveyed buy a new piece in Zalando and About You, the agencies said.
The Bandi brand had the largest volume of advertising on the Internet last year, followed by Lindex and Trenýrkárna.cz. The fourth place in terms of the size of the advertised space was occupied by the clothing retailer Esmara, the fifth place by CityZen, the survey found.
