Munich (Germany) – Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský and President-elect of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel discussed with Polish President Andrzej Duda today in the Bavarian capital on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, among other things, the development of mutual transport links. Pavel wrote on Twitter that he is looking forward to an early meeting in Warsaw, where he wants to go on one of his first trips abroad after the inauguration in March.

“I discussed mutual cooperation, including transport infrastructure, as well as cooperation within the Visegrad Group (V4),” wrote Lipavský on Twitter. “Relations with Polish friends are of great importance, even more so in today's difficult times, when together we have to help solve problems beyond our borders. I look forward to cooperation and an early meeting in Warsaw,” said Pavel. Duda, on the other hand, published a video on Twitter in which he shakes hands with Pavel.
After the statement of the unsuccessful presidential candidate Andrej Babiš from the election campaign, in which he questioned the possible help to Poland and the Baltic countries in the event of their possible military attack, Pavel promised , that he will go to Poland on his second foreign trip. Pavel would like to visit Ukraine and Germany shortly after the inauguration.
Pavel, Lipavský and Duda met for breakfast today. Pavel, who wants to use the conference in Munich to establish relations and contacts for his upcoming presidential mandate, also met in the Bavarian capital for a joint debate with Lipavský. After his election, Pavel repeatedly said that he wanted the Castle and the government to coordinate their foreign policy actions.
After the meeting with Duda, Pavel met with Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder in the morning. This meeting took place at Söder's request. “The further development of the Bavarian-Czech border area is particularly important to us,” wrote the Bavarian Prime Minister on Twitter.
