Shortly before the first round of the presidential elections in January, Pavel told the Lidovy newspaper that he felt in excellent health. He added that he is ready to publish a report from the overall examination. “I want to complete this for my own sake at ÚVN,” he said at the time. At a press conference on Monday, he told journalists that he will have a comprehensive checkup done today and will publish the results before the inauguration.
The health condition of the current president, Miloš Zeman, has attracted attention for a long time. In the fall of 2021, Zeman was hospitalized twice, the second time he was initially in a serious condition in the intensive care clinic. Doctors justified the need for care due to complications associated with the president's chronic illness. The President has been cared for by nurses in Lány since he returned from the hospital.
