Klatovy – Václav Pech with a Ford Focus WRC is leading the Klatovy Šumava Rally after the first stage, the second race of the championship of the Czech Republic in automobile competitions. With a difference of less than seven seconds, the reigning champion and defending champion from last year Jan Kopecký is second, and Dominik Stříteský is third after completing eight special stages.

Pech, whose results are not counted in the MČR evaluation because he is starting with a car of the WRC category, already got to the head of the 57th edition of the rally in the opening timed test on Friday. Today, Kopecký replaced him in the lead after the third stage, but Pech immediately returned to the lead after the following special stage and kept the first place until the finish of the stage.
On Sunday, the rally continues with the final four stages.
