Moscow – Russia does not wish to freeze the conflict in Ukraine and intends to achieve its goals either through a special military operation or by other available means, according to the TASS agency, the spokesman of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, said. Russian officials call the invasion of Ukraine, which Moscow launched more than a year ago, a special military operation.

According to TASS, Peskov answered in the affirmative to the question whether Russia agrees with the West that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be allowed to freeze. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, for example, spoke about the danger of freezing the conflict in the event of peace negotiations regarding Ukraine, according to the Russian agency.

“There are obviously no prerequisites for a peaceful solution yet. The special military operation continues,” Peskov also said. He blamed Kyiv for the failure of the peace negotiations that took place in the past.
