< /p> Czech Indoor Athletics Championships, February 19, 2023 in Ostrava. The winner of the women's 400 meters, Tereza Petržilková, is happy to meet the limit for the European Indoor Championships.
Ostrava – The second day of the indoor championship of the Czech Republic in athletics was decorated with the 400 meter races. At the championship in Ostrava, Tereza Petržilková, Matěj Krsek and Vít Müller met the European Athletics (EA) limits for participation in the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul and secured a start there. The best Czech fourth runner Lada Vondrová tested her speed in the 200m, which she won.

Petržilková improved her personal record by a quarter of a second to 52.19. She fulfilled the required performance by a hundredth of a second. “The fact that I managed to run such a difficult race on my own and it is an absolute personal record is probably the most important thing for me,” she said on the association's website. She still feels the potential for a faster time, as she fell ill after the previous Czech Indoor Gala meet. “I had a shortfall and I'm just getting into it now, so I think there's room for improvement,” she added.
Krsek moved his personal best even more significantly, who reduced it by 35 hundredths to 46.19 and after three titles from outdoor championships won the first indoor one. “I really liked the run. It was so free, relaxed, pleasant. From start to finish, a great run from my point of view,” he enjoyed. The silver Müller also fell below the value of the EA limit of 46.35. The elite Czech hurdler finished in a time of 46.22.
The speed test was successful for Vondrová, who improved her personal best by more than three tenths to 23.36 in the heat and in the final. Filip Sasínek took care of the championship record in the fifteenth with a time of 3:40.25. His partner Kristiina Mäki did not start in the 15th round.
The eighth national indoor title was won by distance runner Radek Juška, who triumphed even with an injured right hand, on which he had a brace in the wrist and forearm area. “I tripped on the stairs at home and slammed my hand into the wall, I have broken two bones,” he said during an interview on the desktop. In a balanced series, he flew the farthest at 787 centimeters, so he was three centimeters short of meeting the confirmation performance of the Czech Athletics Association for participation in the HME.
