The police received a report after midnight about a man demolishing a hostel and surrounding buildings with a stick. “When the patrol arrived at the hostel, the unknown man was no longer there and the police found him near the airport building, where he was damaging and demolishing the airport's hangars and other equipment,” said Suchánková.

According to the police, the man did not respond to calls and was very aggressive towards the police. “That is why, after further legal calls, they used coercive means – groping, grabs, tear gas, a telescopic baton, a taser – repeatedly and subsequently also a service weapon. Despite the fact that the police immediately provided the injured man with first aid, he died as a result of his injuries. ” said the spokeswoman.

The police intervention will be checked by the General Inspectorate of the Security Forces. “I can confirm that we have taken over the investigation of the police intervention in Mladoboleslavsk,” GIBS spokeswoman Ivana Nguyenová told ČTK. Igor Karul of the airport's flight operations told ČTK that the airport now has no information to estimate the amount of damage. Even the police have not yet determined the amount of damage, said police spokeswoman Suchánková.
