Prague – Police in Prague this evening shot an aggressive man who ran towards them with an axe. Even immediate first aid did not save the victim. The police reported on the case on Twitter. At the same time, she assured that no one in the vicinity of the event was in danger.

Policemen used a weapon against a man who broke into a building in Poděbradská Street in Prague 9. Despite repeated calls, he ran towards the intervening policemen with an axe. “Unfortunately, despite immediate first aid from the responding police officers, the suspect succumbed to his injuries on the spot,” the police said.
Criminalists are investigating the case. The General Inspection of the Security Forces (GIBS) was also informed about the shooting. “We want to reassure the public that there is no danger to anyone in the area,” the police added.
