Prague – President-elect Petr Pavel will meet Prime Minister Petr Fiala (ODS) this morning at the Hrzánské Palace in Prague. They should talk about Pavlo's upcoming inauguration or current political issues. Pavel agreed with Fiala at regular informative meetings on current affairs after his election.
Pavel has seen Fiala several times since the results of the second round of the presidential election were announced in January. The Prime Minister came to congratulate Pavlo directly in the election staff, they also spoke at a meeting of the highest constitutional officials. They came to an agreement at regular meetings that Fiala also attended with outgoing President Miloš Zeman.
At today's meeting, Pavel and Fiala could touch on the government's proposal to reduce the June extraordinary valorization of pensions, but Pavel wants to comment on it only after the inauguration scheduled for March 9. The House will start discussing the amendment today. “Given that the legislative process is starting, it will not be about if and what position I will take,” Pavel said at the meeting on Monday. He wants to talk with Fiala about the future interaction of their offices or the inauguration.
