Kyiv – President Petr Pavel will visit Ukraine in April, he agreed on this today during a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky. Pavlov's spokeswoman Markéta Řeháková told ČTK. The heads of state also discussed the Czech Republic's support for Ukraine for the following months.

According to Řeháková, Zelenskyy requested the phone call and was interested in the call taking place as soon as possible after Thursday's inauguration. He wanted to congratulate Pavlo on taking office. “They discussed the possible visit of President Pavel to Ukraine and agreed that it will take place in April. The topic was also the Czech Republic's support for Ukraine in the following months,” the spokeswoman added to ČTK in the early evening.
About the phone call today on Twitter, Zelenskyi also informed, according to which the presidents also discussed the integration of Ukraine into the European Union and agreed on further cooperation. “I outlined the situation on the front and our security needs,” the Ukrainian president also stated.
Ukraine has been resisting the Russian invasion for more than a year. Western countries, including the Czech Republic, support it financially, militarily and humanitarianly. “Czech support is essential for the fight against Russian aggression,” Zelenskyj wrote.
