In a documentary, event, Football, Prince William and our Mental Health, and the husband of Kate Middleton was entrusted to open heart on the death of his mother, princess Diana, in 1997.
It’s a wound that will never heal. Is only 15 years old, the prince William lost his mother, princess Diana, in a terrible road accident while she was trying to escape paparazzi in Paris. Still devastated by the disappearance of the princess of Wales, his eldest son only speaks rarely about the trauma he lived through. Yet, in the documentary event, called Football, Prince William and our Mental Health, the husband of Kate Middleton has opened her heart. Then he was talking with Marvin Sordell, a footballer who has suffered from depression and grew up without his father, prince William explained that fatherhood had saved the life. “Having children is the greatest moment, it is life-changing, him has he entrusted. I think when you have experienced something traumatic in life – as you and the absence of your father and me, having lost my mother young, the emotions come back in leaps and bounds.”
In the Face of the footballer, prince William explained how his wife had been there for him. “Me and Catherine, above all, we support each other and we all go through these moments together. We live and learn together, explained the duke of Cambridge. I can completely understand what you say about children, this is one of the most important moments of the incredible life, but it is also one of the most frightening.” Very discreet when it comes to speak of the death of Lady Di, prince William, however, continues to render him homage, regular. In particular, when he visited Pakistan last October. While visiting a school in Islamabad, the husband of Kate Middleton had made tender confidences, to young girls a “fan” of her mom : “Really ? Oh that is very nice of you. I was a big fan of my mother. She came here three times. I was very small”.

The promise rending of prince William
And if prince William is still affected, more than twenty years after the demise of princess Diana, it is because they were very close. The duke has been a support of size when she divorced from prince Charles. Sad to have to give up her royal titles after their separation, Lady Dy had received a promise from his eldest son. “She told me that he had sat in front of it one evening, while she was anxious about her loss of royal title. He put his arms around her, and said, ‘Don’t worry mom, I’ll give you back these titles when I become king”, told the former butler of Diana, Paul Burrell, in the book A royal duty. A heart-wrenching promise that he unfortunately has never been able to honour.
