The Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco) alerted Volkswagen company vehicle users to 3 thousand 958 vehicles Sportvan, 20,109 Crossfox and Gol units, models 2006 to 2010, due to a possible failure in the driver’s side airbag.
The agency explained that this is derived from the information provided by the manufacturer of Airbags Takata, since it was detected that there is a possibility that the bags located on the driver and / or passenger side, in the event of an accident with their activation, the gas generator casing could explode and detach fragments, which could cause injuries to the occupants of the vehicle.
“The automaker found that these airbags could have been mounted in some of the indicated vehicles, and takes this action for security reasons, so the affected vehicles should be reviewed and, where appropriate, replace the gas generator or of the airbag module, “he said in a statement.
He explained that the alert is for the models: Sportvan years 2007 and 2008 (10 units); Sportvan High, from 2006 to 2010 (3,948); Crossfox 1.6 101 HP M5F 2007 (9,063); Crossfox 1.6 101 HP M5F 2008 (5,693); Crossfox 1.6 101 HP M5F 2009 (4,732); Gol 1.6 Basic 101 PS 5-S 2009 (28); Gol 1.6 MID 101 PS 5-S 2009 (166); GoL Sedan 1.6 BASIC 101 HP 5-S 2009 (139); Gol Sedan 1.6 MID 101 HP 5-S 2009 (288).
