If the Project xCloud from Microsoft will be available on Android on September 15, the declination iOS of the cloud gaming service Xbox is much more uncertain… Explanations.
In the beginning of the year, Microsoft released a “preview” version of its service Project xCloud on iOS. A preview will then be limited to a total of 10 000 players, and that only allowed access to one and only one game : Halo The MasterChief Collection. A preview that was to last until September, but Microsoft has prematurely put an end to it.

The Project xCloud uncertain on iOS ?
Indeed, if we now know that the Project xCloud will be integrated with the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 15 September, and available on Android, the declination iOS seems to be a real problem for the american giant. ” Our preview Project xCloud is complete on iOS and we focus on the launch of our cloud gaming via the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate customers Android from 15 September,” explains t-it at Microsoft.
Microsoft has not explained in detail the problems that are experienced on iOS, but these are the rules very restrictive for the AppStore that are not favourable to the program of cloud gaming from Microsoft. This is not the first time that Apple is very recalcitrant in the face of such offers, and this was the case a few months ago, still with SteamLink or with Shadow.
The future of xCloud remains very uncertain on iOS, and the decision does not appear to actually rest on the shoulders of Microsoft. On the side of the giant from Redmond, we intend to offer more than 100 games at the launch of xCloud on Android on September 15 next, and it has just announced an exclusive partnership with Samsung, which guests can enjoy a special version of the Xbox Game Pass, which will buy valuable bonuses (skins, objects, etc.) with tokens earned by playing. See now when, and if, the service will be available one day on iOS…
