Elite kayaker Prskavec advanced to the finals from ninth place in his international canoeing debut, which he has been doing for about two years. He was running second and thanks to a great final part of the course he was more than two and a half seconds into the lead. Then he was beaten by Slovakian Matej Beňuš by only eleven hundredths and by 3.19 seconds by the sovereign winner Tasiadis.
Praskavec, paradoxically, did better in the canoe than in his excellent discipline, in the kayak he took fifth place on Friday. He took care of the only Czech medal in Augsburg so far. The program will be closed by Sunday's kayak cross races.
