Rick and Morty: Christopher Lloyd returns as Rick Sánchez in new Adult Swim spot

A few days ago, Adult Swim released a first preview of its star production Rick and Morty in which, leaving their animated looks behind, the title characters were brought into live action by Christopher Lloyd, the iconic Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown in Back to the Future, and Jaeden Martell (It).

Although Martell was not the first choice to bring Morty to life (they first thought of Daniel Radcliffe), the fact of seeing Lloyd as the crazy scientist is a fantasy come true for millions of fans, because – in case you did not know – the series is inspired by the iconic 1980s sci-fi franchise mentioned above.

Now, Adult Swim has launched a new live action with Christopher and Jaeden, ahead of the season finale of the animated title. The clip even winks at Pickle Rick: when Morty asks his grandfather if he “learned anything from the last time,” while looking at a pickle on a desk, the old man walks up to his grandson and takes the fruit to give him a big bite. . Sanchez then proceeds to spit out his mouthful and says, “Are you kidding me? Never”. Look the following video:

The first live-action scene was labeled C-132, presumably indicating that Lloyd’s and Martell’s versions of the characters are from a different universe than the current plot thread centers. However, this latest launch has been labeled C-1.21, a detail that has sparked the theory that it is a reference to the time machine that created ‘Doc’, whose operation required 1.21 gigawatts to return Marty to his reality.

While there is a constant desire from the loyal fans for a film with real actors, these spots are not necessarily an indication that something is going to happen in the near future. However, depending on the general reception of the visual materials in question, it is possible that the chain in charge of its distribution takes its success to develop a new installment or some spin-off.
