In the Russian Federation, declared victory on a long-term dispute with Ukraine on the supply of Ukrainian railway equipment despite the fact that Ukraine won Russia’s appeal to the world trade organization (WTO). About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Russian media.
It is reported that the Ministry of economic development, officially representing Russia in the WTO, considers the decision of the appellate body – a victory for Russia, because essentially she doesn’t have to change anything on your market.
Recall that Ukraine won Russia’s appeal to the WTO in the case of prohibition of export of cars. The WTO appellate body rejected all of Russia’s demands. At the same time, the appeals requirements of Ukraine except for one were satisfied.

As reported RBC-Ukraine, in July 2018, the Russian Federation had won the dispute in the case of the supply of cars in the WTO. Ukraine tried to prove that in 2013 Russia limits Ukrainian supplies of railcars, rolling stock, turnouts, and other components. It was also stressed that Moscow’s actions were unreasonable.
In the end, the world trade organization ruled in favor of Russia, in particular, the experts recognized the legality of Russia’s refusal of certification of Ukrainian products. In August of the same year, Ukraine has appealed the WTO ruling.
