Kyiv – The Russian army attacked targets in Ukraine from the north overnight today with 14 Iranian Shahed drones, the Ukrainian General Staff and the Kyiv Region military administration said. Air defense destroyed 11 of these drones.

The head of the Kyiv military administration, Serhiy Popko, announced that nine drones were destroyed in the airspace around the capital and that, according to preliminary information, they did not cause any material damage or injure anyone. The attack was carried out in two waves. “In this way, the enemy tried to achieve his tactical goal – to exhaust our air defense. That is why the night raid on Kyiv lasted five and a half hours,” added Popko.

Explosions can be heard in this city, which was liberated by the Ukrainian army last November, but which is regularly shelled by Russian troops from the east bank of the Dnieper.
