Sachsenring (Germany) – Czech motorcyclist Filip Salač took thirteenth place in the Moto2 Grand Prix of Germany and recorded the worst result of the season. For the first time, he did not fit into the top ten. The Spaniard Pedro Acosta won at the Sachsenring.
Salač only started from thirteenth place, and he also had to deal with wrist pain after falling in qualifying. Shortly after the start, he moved to eleventh place, but gradually fell back down the order to the final thirteenth place.
For the first time this season, the twenty-one-year-old driver of the Gresini team did not fit into the top ten. His worst so far was ninth in Spain, the maximum for him was the silver position from France.
Acosta won for the second time in a row and for his fourth overall victory of the year he finished with a comfortable lead of almost three seconds ahead of Tony Arbolino from Italy and Jake Dixon from Australia.
Arbolin is first in the standings of the World Championship with 139 points, 15 points ahead of Acosta. Salač, who has scored points in all seven races so far this season, has 72 points and is fifth.
