Santa Fe is looking for a new forward and Panamanian Ismael Díaz would be the favorite

Independent Santa FeThe 2021-2 BetPlay Dimayor League started on a bitter note, after falling at home against Deportivo Cali by a score of 2-1. One of the clear shortcomings of the team led by Harold Rivera is the definition and the cardinal leadership is evaluating adding one more striker to the squad in order to have more options on offense.

The greatest candidate to join the Bogota team is Ismael Diaz, a 24-year-old Panamanian player who has just played the last two soccer championships in his country with Tauro FC. Díaz was considered the greatest Panamanian prospect in recent years, but injuries have prevented him from shining with the passage of time and only until 2020 did he become regular again.

In 16 games played recently with Taurus he managed to score five goals, once again reaching a physical condition good enough to compete as a professional. Díaz played with his country’s national team in the world championships of minor divisions and was part of the roster that played in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Other candidates to sign for Santa Fe are Diego Herazo and Marco Pérez, but both have a current contract and would have to negotiate the pass with their respective teams. The only reinforcement of the cardinals so far in their forward corps for 2021-2 is also Panamanian Ronaldo Dinolis, who last Wednesday confirmed his link with the team for a year.
