Sharjah Sports Authority opens registration for the Hamriyah Aquathlon

The Sharjah Sports Council opened the registration for its new event “Aquaathlon Hamriya_Sharjah”, which will be held on Friday, August 27, in cooperation with Al Qudra Sports Services Company and a number of sponsors and supporters. Activating the role of community sports, making sports an ideal way of life, and spreading sports culture in the smiling emirate of all ages and nationalities.

Issa Hilal Al-Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, indicated that the Al Hamriya Aquathlon is being held as an extension of the council’s activities, which aim to confirm the status of sport in the emirate, in implementation of the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. The Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council.

He added: Many events were organized during the previous period and achieved tangible success, and this time the establishment of the Al Hamriya Aquathlon comes within the council’s plan to diversify and choose different locations in the cities of the emirate, where sports play its role in promoting tourism with the distinctive participation of community members and enjoying the beauty of the cities where the events are held. It is one of the real gains in the organization and preparation of various events and excellence in them, and the increase in the number of sports practitioners while adhering to all preventive and precautionary measures to ensure the safety of all.

In turn, Muhammad Ali bin Hammad, in charge of the director of sports and community events, said: Aquathlon is one of the complex races recognized by the International Triathlon Federation. Open, in addition to participation from inside and outside the country, the race includes two distances, the first sprint starts at 6:15 am, while the second distance super sprint begins at 6:20 am, and the awarding ceremonies for the winners will begin at 7:30 am. A participant gets the race medal at the finish line, while the winners in the race categories are awarded with gold, silver and bronze medals.
