Slavia is seeded together with Olympiakos in the so-called non-championship part of the European League. According to UEFA rules, teams from the same country cannot face each other, so the team from Piraeus will face the loser of the duel Servette Geneva – Genk.
The Slavists have relatively fresh experience with Panathinaikos. Last summer, they played him in the 3rd preliminary round of the Conference League and after a 2-0 home win and a 1-1 draw in Athens, they qualified for the final play-off. From it, after a double match with Čenstochová, they passed to the basic group.
In previous cases, however, Czech teams were not successful in cup matches with the Athens club. 22 years ago, Slavia was eliminated with him in the preliminary round of the Champions League, then Sparta met the same fate twice. In the UEFA Cup and later in the Europa League, even Liberec and Mladá Boleslav were not enough for the Greek club.
Czech teams have not yet played with Dnipro-1, which was established eight years ago. Due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the team led by former national team defender Oleksander Kučer plays league matches in Uzhgorod, and last season's home games of the Conference League were played in Košice. (first match on July 25 and 26, second leg on August 1 and 2):
