Damascus – Fifteen people were killed in an Israeli rocket attack in the Syrian capital of Damascus last night. According to AFP, the Syrian Organization for Human Rights (SOHR), which is based in Britain and monitors the conflict in Syria through its sources on the ground, informed about it. Civilians are among the victims, SOHR added. The Syrian army reports five casualties, including one soldier.

The missile landed in the Kfar Susa neighborhood and hit an apartment building near a large security complex, not far from Iranian installations, Reuters reported, citing witnesses and an official source. They said the strike damaged several houses in a densely populated area.
Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes on targets in Syria in recent years, according to AFP, but rarely acknowledges or comments on these operations. But he admitted targeting bases of militant groups allied to Iran, such as Lebanon's Shiite movement Hezbollah, which in previous years has sent thousands of its fighters to support Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces in the civil war.
