According to the director of the communication department of the Ministry of Finance, Michaela Lagronova, five candidates applied for the tender. The selection committee chose three candidates, from which Stanjura was to choose the winner. According to Hospodářské noviny, the three candidates were Ronovský, former Director General of the Financial Administration Jan Knížek and former Deputy Minister of Finance Simona Hornochová. People's newspaper, citing anonymous sources, said that Stanjura chose Hornochová.
In January, on the occasion of the tender announcement, Stanjura said that as one of his priorities at the ministry, he wanted to make the Financial Administration a respected partner of entrepreneurs, which would have a pro-client approach and will distinguish minor administrative errors and conscious avoidance of tax obligations. According to Stanjura, the new director general of the General Financial Directorate should contribute to the fulfillment of this goal.
