The project Star Wars Underworld was very ambitious. This is probably the major reason due to which she has never seen the light of day.

With Disney+, the franchise Star Wars may well be experiencing a real golden age of the next series. Thus, beyond the success of The Mandalorian, we already know that other programs dedicated to Rogue One, or even to Ahsoka Tano, are in the cards. However, if the saga is primarily developed in cinema at the moment (and with very good animation series), the reality could be very different. George Lucas himself had a project very ambitious.
Star Wars, the lure of excess
The project, dubbed Star Wars : Underworld is part of the great regrets of many Star Wars fans. This project series in live-action was to take place between episode 3 and episode 4 of the saga, offering a kind of junction for the two trilogies. It was in the mid-2000s as a true soap opera, very up-shifted, with new characters. At the time, no less than 400 episodes were even mentioned. A project totally crazy about which the screenwriter and producer Ronald D. Moore is back.
I would say that we had written something like 40 – 48 scenarios. In theory, George wanted to write all the scenarios, the work, and then go in and find out how to produce them. He wanted to do something that mixes of-the-art technology, special effects and virtual backdrops. This should be something new.
At the time, George Lucas, particularly confident in her project, gathers a team regularly to write scenarios. They have carte blanche to imagine everything they may dream of. George Lucas plans to shoot the first full season before you even find a diffuser. For several years, the project will move forward but never really come to fruition. the takeover of Disney has definitely sounded the death knell of this project.
