It’s been just a year that we’ve known Steelrising, a new Souls-style action RPG coming from Spiders Studio, the French company responsible for Greedfall. Now Steelrising shows a new gameplay and reveals its release date, which until now was loosely set for 2022. Now we have learned that the title will be available in June next year and its developers have shown more of their playable proposal by taking advantage of their presence at the Nacon Connect event, attended by some video game studios from around the world.
The story takes place in an alternate Paris, in which the king Louis XVI has deployed an army of killer machines. As a player you will play Aegis, the robotic bodyguard of Queen Marie Antoinette sent to help the Revolution and stop the tyrant’s reign. In the previously attached video you can see Aegis perform combos in the purest NieR style in a setting that seems taken from the very Bloodborne. There are already many players who have stopped to point out the clear inspiration that Steelrising seems to take from both titles, especially knowing that we are facing a self-defined work as souls-like.
Greedfall Gold Edition is now available on Xbox
So, Steelrising will come to Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 5 and PC in June 2022, in a day yet to be realized. Spiders Studio has been on everyone’s lips lately thanks to its RPG Greedfall, which has received its first story expansion and also a free update with improvements for the new generation of consoles for all those who already have the game. The Xbox Game Pass version It also benefits from these improvements, so if you are a subscriber to Microsoft’s service, you can already enjoy them.
