It is true that Diego Maradona had already “illuminated” the La Boca neighborhood, back in 1981, when Argentinos Juniors transferred it to Xeneize. His partnership with Miguel Brindisi and Hugo Omar Perotti, among others, forever sealed the love between El Diez and the La Ribera club.

By then, La Boca had passed its first 111 years, and Diego was just 21.

This Saturday the mythical streets where thousands of people walk “Caminito” and La Bombonera, among other attractions, celebrated its 151st anniversary with different activities.

Nine months after Maradona’s death, and on the occasion of the neighborhood’s birthday, the iron sculpture was inaugurated “Diego Iluminado”, by Alejandro Marmo, which was installed on the wall behind the monument to General José de San Martín, at the entrance to the mythical “Caminito” promenade.

Marziotta accompanies Leandro Santoro on the ballot. This Saturday, the Buenos Aires legislator differed from the opinion that President Alberto Fernández had given on the video that shows a K teacher indoctrinating a student at a school in La Matanza.

“I am a teacher at the UBA, I am used to discussing this type of thing because in our program there is a lot of conjuncture. But the teacher always has a role of power that he has to know how to identify. I believe in the debate in the classroom but fulfilling the roles”, Santoro remarked.

And he concluded: “First the forms and then you have to be careful when you give your opinions so as not to contaminate the pedagogical objectives of the subject.”
