Meteorologists expect that up to 40 millimeters of rain could fall within an hour. The wind should ease slightly on Monday evening, with full force of gusts during Tuesday, said Chief Meteorologist Georgina Griffiths. According to her, the pressure in Auckland is currently the lowest in the last 40 years.

Prime Minister Chris Hipkins also called for caution during a visit to the coordination center in Auckland. According to him, the country has learned from the recent floods. Central and local authorities are working closely together to prepare for the storm's impact, Hipkins assured.
