The workers reached an agreement with the terminal owners DP World. Through a statement they reported that “both parties have committed to working on a new model of labor relations based on respect.”
After 9 days of work stoppage, the workers belonging to the San Antonio Port Stevedores Federation reached an agreement with the owners of the DP World terminal.
Through a statement from the same terminal they announced that the functions would be resuming this Friday in the first shift that starts at 8:00.
During the week, the workers set up barricades at the accesses to the STI and DP World terminals, and since the last few hours, the San Antonio Port Authority asked the workers to end the strike for the cruise ships that could not arrive at the port. This affected the economy and tourism of the city.
The DP World statement stated that “both parties have committed to working on a new labor relations model based on respect for people and agreements; diligence in addressing issues; the existence of a dispute resolution mechanism; and the guarantee of labor continuity”.
At the end of the ad, they stated that they regretted the consequences of the illegal strike.
