Next year the restoration works on the Los Tilos de Lota staircase will begin , a pedestrian section that connects the park and downtown sectors of that commune and dates back to 1888.
The amount delivered by the Bío Bío Regional Development Subsecretariat, is part of the Neighborhood Revitalization and Heritage Infrastructure Program.
This in order to improve said pedestrian section and rescue its historical elements.
The above, taking into account that the work dates from the end of the 19th century.
The Los Tilos staircase has an extension of 200 meters and the announcement of the work in the sector was highlighted by the president of the Neighborhood Council, Juana Gallardo.
After the formalization of the delivery of resources, what follows is to start the bidding process, said the mayor Patricio Marchant.

< p>The project includes pedestrian lighting works with underground cables, where its lanterns and posts correspond to the same typology as those used in the Carlos Cousiño axis.
At the same time, the recovery and cleaning of heritage elements , such as the cast iron chains, handrails, refractory brick deaths and the obelisk in front of the Lota Arauco Technical Training Center.
On the other hand, it considers the recovery of the existing kiosk at the entrance to the stairs ; the replacement of trees in poor condition; the incorporation of irrigation system and landscaping; and the improvement of the rainwater system, among other scopes.
