Indian Wells (USA) – Czech tennis player Linda Nosková advanced to the second round in her first start at the prestigious tournament in Indian Wells . The 18-year-old player defeated Romanian Irina-Camelia Beguova 7:6, 6:1 in the opening round. For participation in the third round, Nosková will face home Amanda Anisimovová, who initially had a free draw as the 31st seeded player.

Nosková had to catch up against an experienced opponent in the opening set, but she quickly eliminated the 1:3 deficit and the even fight was decided by a tie-break. In it, the Czech player faced a set point at 6:7, but she was able to ward it off and then she used her second chance to win the opening set after 65 minutes.

In contrast to her opponent, Nosková entered the second set in a state of mental well-being. The Romanian, who repeatedly sprained her left ankle on the court, only played the first game at 0:5, when she averted three match points and narrowly escaped the unpopular canary. But in the next game, Nosková, the 54th player in the world ranking, finished the match superbly with a clean game on her serve.
