Olomouc – The Assembly of the Agrarian Chamber of the Czech Republic (AK) will elect the new leadership of this agricultural organization today in Olomouc. The current president, Jan Doležal, will run again for the post of head of the chamber, and the delegates will also elect a new presidium. Doležal has been the president of AK since 2020, when he replaced Zdenek Jandejsko.

At the Diet in Olomouc, the delegates will talk about the priorities of the AK for the coming period and at the end they will adopt a resolution with the main demands. The government's consolidation package, which includes cuts in agricultural subsidies in the amount of 10.2 billion crowns, will probably also be discussed. They should be reduced by this amount already next year, farmers do not like the plan.

The election of Doležal to the head of the chamber in 2020 continued the trend of recent years, when non-state agricultural organizations elect secretaries and executive officers as presidents and chairmen, as happened with the Association of Private Agriculture and Jaroslav Šebek, Agricultural Union of the Czech Republic and Martin Pýcha or the Food Chamber of the Czech Republic and Dana Večeřová.
