Vienna – The Austrian police detained a 35-year-old Czech near the Czech border equipped with a rifle, a revolver and several knives. The police, alerted by passers-by, arrested the man. According to the APA news agency, he claimed that he wanted to test his survival skills during the several-day trip. The firearms proved to be inoperable, however the man was charged with disorderly conduct and was temporarily banned from carrying weapons by Austrian authorities.

Police received information that a gunman in a camouflage uniform is moving in the spa town of Bad Leonfelden in Upper Austria. After a short search, in which several police patrols, service dogs and also a special intervention unit were involved, the Czech was arrested near the village of Reichenthal.
