Surprise Surprise… and very good surprise for the fans of Batman. IF one was forced to draw a feature on Ben Affleck and the casting of Robert Pattinson plunges us in a state of uncertainty, this does not seem to be the case of DC Comics and Warner Bros. On the side of Hollywood, there seems to be so certain that it will be a success is already planning a spin-off to the platform HBO Max. It is Matt Reeves himself, who would now be in his development.
The Batman, immersed in Gotham PD
The idea of this spin-off seems to be of interest to the police of Gotham City itself. This is Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The sopranos…) which handles the writing and the production. If the series Gotham has already given us a glimpse of what it could be like the police of the city, the story takes place before Batman. Here, the idea seems to be (a priori) that the series takes place at the same time. The inspiration might in particular be on the side of the comic book Gotham Central.
Recently, you also announced an ambition similar to the program for Wonder Woman with a spin-off of the animated series. In both cases, it is unknown what role will the major players of the franchise in the series. Will they show up ? Robert Pattinson will he give himself a cameo in a content planned for the streaming platform ?
HBO Max speaks of it as in ” discussion of the film the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City. Moreover, the ambition sembe be to create a ” new universe Batman on multiple platforms “. The latest rumors say it would be a prequel, intended to show the situation before the arrival of Batman.
This series offers an unprecedented opportunity to extend the world established in the film and to further explore the myriad of fascinating characters and complex that make up the city of Gotham.
