Nové Město na Moravá (Žďársko) – The Biathlon World Cup in Nové Město na Moravá continues today with the women's sprint. The main Czech hope is the eighth woman in the running order of the series, Markéta Davidová, who won third place in the same discipline three years ago in her home Vysočina Arena. < p>Twenty-six-year-old Davidová is so far the only Czech medalist this season. In December, she won silver in the sprint in Hochfilzen, and was third in the subsequent pursuit race. In Nové Město in Moravia, she already succeeded in 2020, but then the races took place without spectators due to the coronavirus pandemic. The biathlete from Janova nad Nisou now has a chance to win another podium in front of the packed stands. She will start with number 12.

Tereza Voborníková will start the track with number 9 before Davidová. Recovered Jessica Jislová (28), Lucie Charvátová (72) and Tereza Vinklárková (76) will try to succeed. The leading woman in the discipline is Denise Herrmannová-Wicková from Germany, who before the cup in Nové Město in Moravia also won gold in the sprint at the World Championships in Oberhof in February.
