Lucid Motors, which advertises itself as the competitor of Tesla, unveils more details on its future Lucid Air 100% electric, which will be launched at the beginning of 2021.

The electric car market keeps growing, and should soon count on a new constructor : the startup california-based Lucid Motors is preparing, in effect, to lift the veil on the production version of its Lucid Air, which will be unveiled at a virtual event announced for September 9, next. Initially, Lucid had planned a public presentation at the New York Show in the spring, but it was cancelled because of a pandemic of sars Coronavirus.
So we should soon know more about the technical features of this sedan 100% electric, which will compete with the Tesla Model S. rumors suggest already that the production version could keep the technical specifications of the prototype, with its battery of 130 kWh, a range of 640 km and a top speed of 320 km/h.
In the meantime, Lucid unveils the dropper some information on its future high-end model. Starting with the Lucid DreamDrive, its advanced system of driving assistance, which is not without reminding us of the Autopilot Tesla. If the latter uses cameras to analyze its environment, Lucid opted for the LiDAR (radar laser), high-resolution, placed at the front of the car and coupled to at least 32 sensors at various and varied.
Conduct semi-autonomous level 2
The functionality provided by the system are numerous : analysis of the surroundings of the car, monitoring blind spots, the protection of the cross-traffic, recognition of traffic signs, automatic emergency braking, alert, anti-drowsy and distracted driving, driver assistance, semi-autonomous (combining adaptive cruise control and the maintenance in the way), traffic alert, headlights-automatic, parking assistance, autonomous brake assist.
According to Lucid, these features allow the Lucid Air to support the conduct semi-autonomous level 2, but future updates over the air (OTA) shall move to level 3. Developments made possible thanks to a significant investment of a billion dollars of public fund investment in Saudi Arabia.
Rendez-vous on the 9th of September 2020 to discover the presentation of the production version of the Lucid Air, which we will learn more about the interior and exterior design, specifications, range as well as the rates of this future sedan 100% electric. The first deliveries are planned for the beginning of the year 2021.
