Prague – The Prague Municipal Court stopped the insolvency proceedings with the Médea company of entrepreneur Jaromír Soukup. This follows from the court's decision. Médea requested the suspension after paying the debts to all three companies that initiated the initiation of insolvency proceedings. After paying off the debt, the companies withdrew their proposal. Médea owed the companies a total of over 3.5 million crowns.

In the bankruptcy petition of Cinema City Czech, Cinexpress and Knowlimits Group, they all stated that the Médea agency, belonging to Soukup's media group Médea Group, had not paid several invoices for the provision of advertising space in cinemas and shops operated by the three petitioners. The debt in the case of Cinema City amounted to about 1.994 million crowns, in the case of Cinexpress 895,580 crowns and in the case of Knowlimits Group 641,585 crowns.

The municipal court in Prague then started insolvency proceedings with Médea on February 17. According to data published in the insolvency register, Médea's lawyer Martin Richter announced that Médea subsequently paid the aforementioned debts on February 24. Richter described the insolvency proposal as “bullying”.

Cinema City Czech, Cinexpress and Knowlimits Group, however, all claimed in the insolvency proposal that the debts owed to Médea were months overdue and that Médea had not paid them even after repeated calls. The companies warned Médea that they would even sue for the money, and Cinema City Czech sent Médea two pre-suit summonses.

This is not the first insolvency proceeding that Médea has faced. Two years ago, the court started proceedings against her at the request of Lipian Trade. In April of the same year, however, the court rejected the insolvency proposal.

Médea is part of Jaromír Soukup's companies, which also include the publishing house Empresa Media and the TV operator TV Barrandov in the media market. Together they form the Médea Group.
