Planica (Slovenia) – Both Czech ski jumpers Roman Koudelka and Radek Rýdl qualified for the world championships in Planica among the fifty participants in Saturday's race on the middle bridge. The 33-year-old Koudelka took 41st place with a performance of 92 meters, Rýdl, twelve years younger, jumped one meter less and ranked 47th. There were 62 jumpers at the start.
The local defending bronze medalist Anže Lanišek won the qualification with a score of 141, 6 points for a jump of 98 meters, followed by Austrian Stefan Kraft (97.5 m) and another Slovenian Timi Zajc (99). The Japanese Ryoju Kobayashi flew the farthest today, the Olympic champion from last year's Beijing was the only one to break the 100-meter barrier, by a meter. World Cup champion Halvor Egner Granerud of Norway jumped 95.5m and qualified sixth.
