“The original exhibition was installed in 1987 as the first ever tramping exhibition, but this one is completely new. Unlike others, it is also dedicated to the present day of tramping, which makes it quite unique. Most people only remember the old golden days, but few people notice, that tramping is still alive,” said Antony.

Among the exhibits is, for example, a hat that belonged to the journalist and writer Géz Včeliček, or a guitar belonging to Jarka Mottl and Tony Linhart. Visitors will also see cups from sports matches, for example from the hockey championship of 1935. They can have fun watching tramp jokes and stories on the touch screen. They can also sit by the campfire, playing camp songs of their choice. Children will try out how to virtually pack a torna or cook a goulash.

The Jílové Museum was created thanks to the collecting passion of Leopold Čihák (1832 to 1915), who collected everything that he was convinced had an informative value. A merchant by profession, he donated the collection to the city, which opened a museum in 1891. Now this institution is a contributory organization of the Central Bohemian Region.
