Skylar is the daughter of emergency workers from Detroit — was diagnosed COVID-19 in March. Due to potentially fatal infections in girls developed a rare form of meningitis and brain swelling, making recovery almost impossible.

It soon became clear that the child meningoencephalitis is a rare complication coronavirus infection that caused swelling of the brain tissue and pressure on the frontal lobe. According to doctors, in the end, it probably caused the death of the brain.
Skylar died Sunday, April 19, becoming the first child in Michigan, who died of coronavirus. Her relatives say they still do not understand how the baby got infected.
