Fifty years ago the world watched as American astronauts Neil Armstrong and buzz Aldrin took the first steps on the moon, which was the culmination of a nearly decade-long race between the United States and the Soviet Union. What is happening with space exploration today?
In our days there is a new space race not between competing superpowers, but between private enterprises, supported by the richest people on the planet. Companies such as Virgin Galactic, sir Richard Branson, SpaceX’s Elon musk and Blue Origin Jeff Bezos lead the commercialization of space travel.
“Again talking about space,” said rich Cooper (Rich Cooper), Vice President for strategic communications and public Affairs Space Foundation. According to the company, the world’s space budget industry today reaches 414,75 billion dollars, with over half of that amount is attributable to commercial space products and services.
Cooper says their number will only grow as space technologies are being developed all the large number of countries.
