The Kidney Foundation launched its fundraising activities in Abitibi-Témiscamingue this Monday.

Three marches are planned for the end of the summer, in La Sarre on September 9, in Rouyn-Noranda on September 16 and in Val-d'Or on September 18.

In addition to these walks, a bowling tournament will be held in Lorrainville on September 23.

In total, the fundraising goals for these four events total $55,000.< /p>Start of the widget. Skip the widget? End of widget. Back to the top of the widget?

President of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue chapter of the Kidney Foundation, Normand Lemieux, indicates that the money raised during these activities helps people in many ways struggling with kidney health issues.

There is a patient service that exists at the Kidney Foundation. This service makes it possible to give manuals to patients who are followed in renal insufficiency. We also have vacation camps for dialysis and transplant children in Quebec. There is a financial assistance program that can be offered to patients in emergency funds. If there are major financial problems, we are there for them, he gives examples.
