Prague – Today, the Czech currency stagnated against the single European currency and weakened against the dollar. Around 17:00, it traded at the rate of 23.57 CZK/EUR, the same as on Tuesday early evening. Against the dollar, it weakened by nine pennies to 22.33 CZK/USD. This follows from data from the Patria Online server. The Prague Stock Exchange rose after Tuesday's decline. The PX index rose by 0.64 pct to 1409.03 points.

The koruna weakened to 23.67 CZK/EUR this morning. “This was not a reflection of today's statistics from the labor market. The koruna weakened a little with a delay due to nervousness on the stock markets, behind which are bets on the acceleration of the rate of interest rate increases in the USA,” said Next Finance economists Markéta Šichtařová and Jiří Cihlář.
The Labor Office published this morning that the unemployment rate in the Czech Republic stagnated in February at 3.9 percent in January. There were about 282,500 people without work at the end of February, about 550 less than a month ago. The number of vacancies increased by approximately 2,000 compared to January to almost 283,100.
The Prague Stock Exchange rose again after Tuesday's decline. The PX index rose by 0.64 percent to 1409.03 points. Shares of the energy company ČEZ returned above the 1,000 crown mark. It also strengthened Moneta Money Bank and Komerční banka. This follows from the information on the website of the stock exchange. Today, the koruna stagnated against the euro and weakened slightly against the dollar.
Domestic banking titles did well. The securities of Moneta Money Bank rose by 2.04 percent to 85 crowns, and the shares of Komerční banka rose by 0.94 percent to 755 crowns. ČEZ issues, which weakened by 4.56 percent on Tuesday, strengthened by 0.96 percent to 1,004 crowns today. “ČEZ shares managed to return above the psychological level of 1,000 crowns after yesterday's (Tuesday) strong sell-off,” noted broker Wood & Company Vladimír Vávra.
The securities of Zbrojovka ColtCZ, which rose by half a percent to 589 crowns, and the tobacco company Philip Morris, which rose by 0.35 percent to 17,380 crowns, also finished in the black. The Erste group did not fare well, whose securities fell by 0.3 percent to CZK 859.40.
