In the Liberec region for the areas around Frýdlant, Jablonec nad Nisou, Jilemnice and Tanvald, as well as in the Hradec Králové region for the regions of Trutnov and Vrchlabí, the ČHMÚ warning of a new snow cover with a high level of danger applies for the weekend. Meteorologists expect a catastrophic snow situation, major complications in transport and energy.

In a combination of fresh wind and new powdery snow, snow tongues will form in places from the central positions of the north-west and north of the Czech Republic on Saturday. From late Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning, there is a risk of frost or ice formation in lower and middle areas. The warning against them applies to the entire territory of the republic in positions up to 600 meters above sea level.
