Swedish secret police said on Wednesday that the threat of attacks has increased in the country in recent weeks. She did so in response to an incident in which a far-right activist burned a Koran outside the Turkish embassy in Stockholm. The authorities did not allow another similar protest after that, AP reported.

Swedish security service Säpo stated that the international response to the events outside the embassy last month was extensive and that the security situation in Sweden had worsened as a result.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised caution when visiting public places with many people. “For example, church buildings (churches, places of worship) or shopping centers could become the target of an attack. It is necessary to exercise extra caution and contact the relevant local authorities (police) if there is a hint of suspicious activity,” the department said.

At the same time, he urged travelers to register in the Drozd system and to track current information and recommendations.
