Bratislava – An outdoor photo exhibition that maps the common history of Czechs and Slovaks started today in the historical center of Bratislava. The project of the Czech Press Office (ČTK) called Czech/Slovak moments shows 130 images mainly from the agency's archive. The exhibition will be on Bratislava's Hviezdoslav Square, near the Czech Embassy building, almost until the end of March. Subsequently, according to the Czech Center Bratislava, which cooperates on the project, it will be moved to other Slovak cities.

ČTK General Director Jiří Majstr said at the opening that this is the fifth exhibition of its kind from the ČTK workshop. The first of them was in 2018, under the title Moments of the century.

“We tried to do it in such a way as to present the common history to people who did not experience it or who experienced it as very little people. We diluted the parts that relate to politics with, for example, sports, everyday life and culture,” she said on behalf of the author's team of the exhibition, ČTK news editor-in-chief Radka Matesová Marková.

The exhibition also includes photographs from the production of the former Czechoslovak press office, which were transferred to the newly established Slovak agency TASR during the partition of Czechoslovakia.

“Czechs and Slovaks they know a lot about each other, but it's still not enough. The more we move away from 1992, the more those countries don't know much about each other,” said the Czech ambassador to Slovakia, Rudolf Jindrák, at the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition is complemented by a book of the same name . At her christening, Huba said that the value of a moment lies in the impression it made on a person. For example, the actor, who in 2018 played the character of T. G. Masaryk in Jakub Červenka's film, also praised his contacts with Czech culture and Czech art.

The Czech/Slovakian moments exhibition premiered last summer in Uherské Hradiště at 48 of the Summer Film School festival. Then she moved to Prague, from where she headed to the Slovak metropolis.
