Female fans at the Rock for People festival, June 8, 2023, Hradec Králové.
Hradec Králové – So far, the police have not had to deal with serious problems or disturbances of public order during this year's Rock for People music festival in Hradec Králové. The police mainly recorded offenses in traffic or petty theft. Police spokeswoman Lucie Konečná told ČTK today.
The festival, for which several tens of thousands of people descend on the Hradec airport every year, started on Thursday. The final performances are scheduled for the night from today to Monday. Police measures in connection with the festival will therefore continue. The police will mainly focus on the departure of the participants from the festival, the spokeswoman said.
During the supervision of the traffic, the police found several drivers under the influence of alcohol during road checks, for example. The police should have a more accurate balance of offenses available on Monday.
According to the organizers, the budget of the festival last year exceeded 100 million crowns for the first time, this year it is almost double. The festival has been held at the former military airport since 2007. Due to capacity reasons, it moved there from Český Brod.
