“The Senate did not decide on Petr Kramný's guilt. It did not decide whether he committed the act or not. We only decided whether the evidence presented could change the original decision. We cannot revise and change the previous decision. That's not up to us. We just have to deal with new evidence,” said judge Šárka Skalská. The decision may not be final. It is possible to file a complaint against him. The High Court in Olomouc will eventually deal with it.
The motion for retrial was submitted by Kramný through his lawyer. His mother also joined the proposal. According to the indictment and valid sentence, in 2013 Kramný murdered his wife and daughter with electric current in an Egyptian hotel. He allegedly solved long-term disputes in the family. In 2016, he was sentenced to twenty-eight years in prison based on circumstantial evidence.
