Hradec Králové – The Rock for People music festival starts today in Hradec Králové. According to the organizers, 600 artists will perform there until June 11, and visitors can expect 130 concerts and several dozen performances or debates. According to the organizers, the budget of the festival last year exceeded 100 million crowns for the first time, this year it is almost double. The festival has been held at the former military airport since 2007, where it was moved from Český Brod due to capacity reasons.

The evening program of the first day will be headlined by the American Slipknot, who have won a Grammy Award and ten other nominations since they began their activities in the 1990s. Rolling Stone magazine ranked their album Iowa among the 100 greatest metal albums of all time. Architects, Simple Plan, Horkýže Slíže or Anti-Flag will also play today, the domestic music scene will be represented by John Wolfhooker, Lety Mimo or Ventolin. On Friday night, the PKF – Prague Philharmonia and String Quartet will perform with a program prepared specifically for the festival.

According to its director Michal Thomes, the festival will be diverse in genres, for example the idol of the young generation Machine Gun Kelly, an English guitarist the group The 1975 or the English alternative rock group Muse. The program also includes a concert by this year's 80-year-old Václav Neckár. The accompanying program will include theaters, performers, exhibitions and debates on sustainability.

The last four-day tickets are available for 3,990 crowns.
