Official: Meghan Markle will not go to the funeral of the Prince Philip, who died at the age of 99 on 9 April. The funeral will be held privately on Saturday 17 April. Due to the coronavirus, very few will be present: there will not even be Boris Johnson. Present, however, Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, for the first time at home after the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey and the thunderous controversies that followed.

But the headlights are focused on the absence of Meghan Markle, the great accuser of the Windsors, branded with racism, in short, the great “enemy” of the Royal House. A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told the overseas media that Meghan, as she is pregnant, has received from his doctors the advice not to travel precisely because of the advanced stage of her pregnancy. In short, absent for a solid reason, even if the exact date of the birth has never been revealed: it should be between June and July.

Impossible, however, not to think that behind the decision to stay at home there are the enormous problems of Markle with the Royal House. Relationships are very tense, as known. And so, the tabloids report what the Windsor’s fears are: if Markle had attended Philip’s funeral, “the situation could have precipitated“. A situation to be avoided at all costs on the day of the last farewell to Queen Elizabeth’s husband. And anyway, there will already be a lot of tension between Harry, Charles and Prince William, at the first meeting after the interview.
